Kawanna Bright Joins ACRL RIG Leadership

Kawanna Bright, Incoming Convener 2009-2010
Dear Colleagues,
My tenure as Opening Convener for this Group will end on June 30, 2009. Gerald Holmes will then move from the position of Incoming Convener to that of Convener leaving a vacancy in the Incoming Convener position. Gerald and I conferred, and I am happy to announce that this vacant Incoming Convener spot will be filled by Kawanna Bright. She has happily accepted our invitation to serve as the next Incoming Convener beginning this July. She will begin her tenure as Convener next July 2010.
Kawanna received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 1998. In 2003, she received her M.L.I.S from the University of Washington’s Information School where she also earned the Ruth Worden Award for Excellence in Library and Information Science. From 2003-2005, she worked as a resident at the University of Tennessee rotating through the Digital Library Center, and Reference and Instructional Services. Kawanna now works as the Instructional Services Librarian for the North Carolina State University Libraries, and was recently selected as a 2009-2010 fellow in the Association for Research Libraries’ Leadership and Career Development Program.
Please join me in welcoming Kawanna to the ‘board’.
Megan
